Having absolutely no experience with cameras and recording, Elise, Steph, Gianna and I had a little information and planning session for Brief 3 where Elise also taught us how to function the Sony MC50 camera. I found the whole planning session extremely informative as I was able to experience something other than my iPhone camera for recording media. Above is a photograph of Gianna, Elise and I attempting to record a piece of media using the video camera. Below is a picture of Elise and I attempting to attach the camera to the tripod – something we found excruciatingly difficult! Having recently moved to Victoria (not this spiel AGAIN), I’ve found it difficult trying to muster up a list of potential candidates for Brief 3. My list, while not a kilometre in length, is full of interesting people with amazing backstories. I believe that I will end up completing the assignment on my grandmother, my Yiayia, who moved to Australia from Greece after the death of her father in a German Nazi camp.
