Bangin’ Bloggers

As part of a mini time-filler in class we were asked to create a blog post discussing the blog posts of three of our peers… so here’s to a little blogception:

1. “Reacting to Reactions” – Laura Doguet

My reaction to my good friend Laura’s reaction to reacting to reactions was entirely positive – both of us are YouTuber super fans and she reflected on a favourite of mine in a completely different way to how I ever had. It was a bit of a mindf**k to take a step back and consider how I  like to spend my time experiencing other people’s experiences based on various viral content. The reactions are usually hilarious and relatable, and often more enjoyable than the content in question…. Go TheFineBros!

2. “To Die Would Be an Awfully Great Adventure” – Alex La Sala

The title of this deeply ‘contemplatory’ (not a word but I’m going with it) blog post from Alex had me gripped almost instantaneously. Sparked by the recent passing of Robin Williams, Alex poses two ideas: the way that depression can affect anyone – no matter how presumably happy or sad they may be – and the price of success. Money, fame and success is so desirable to a regular old shmo like me, but would that entail me giving up my happiness? Alex reflects on this matter in a pretty eye-opening manner.

3. “Symposium x Reflection” – Monique Myintoo

First of all, I’d just like to mention how aesthetically enlightening Monique’s blog is. It tenaciously tickles my tumblr taste buds and it just, well, makes me happy! Complementing that, is the content itself. Monique writes with such clarity and open-mindedness, making it both seamless and enjoyable to read along. I loved her view on the internet as a growing collective, kind of like a gallery of timeless pieces, and her closing line was absolutely killer (in the sick/wicked/ridiculous good kind of way): “we’re simply adding drops to the ocean of information generations may surf on”. I mean COME ON if thats not perfection in a sentence I don’t know what is.
