“Omg that’s sooo Tumblr”

What constitutes a blog? Tumblr users (myself included) refer to their public databases as a blog, but what’s the difference between a blog such as a wordpress one like this, or a Tumblr? On both platforms you are able to post photographic, audio and video content, as well as written updates, but something in my mind won’t allow me to accept them as the same thing. Where does ‘reblogging’ fit into the ‘bloggersphere’? How does this work with copyrighting laws? Why is it acceptable and praised to have a ‘blog’ full of unoriginal and predominantly visual content? And why has it had such a huge impact on so many aspects of society including fashion, food and travel?

…Just a couple questions I have! I’m considering doing a case study blog post on Tumblr in the near future – I have a feeling it’ll be an interesting platform for me to research and for you to read about…

In the meantime, you can check me out/follow me on Tumblr here!
