Re-Blog – Stanley Kubrick.

I recently read Jason Kendirian’s blog about quote of the week which was….

“A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.”

-Stanley Kubrick

I find this a very true statement of film that some people lose sight of. Audiences2001_space_odyssey want to feel passion, love, drama, anger, fear, power! EMOTIONS!!! I’m not saying that audiences lives don’t include these emotions and moods and feelings. But I am saying that film gives audiences these emotions in a more neat and tidy (possibly) more powerful way. When you write a movie it should not be just a movie, anyone can write “just a movie”, Not many people can instil powerful emotions in people. and THAT is what we should be focusing on.
