I recently read Jason Kendirian’s blog about quote of the week which was….
“A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.”
-Stanley Kubrick
I find this a very true statement of film that some people lose sight of. Audiences want to feel passion, love, drama, anger, fear, power! EMOTIONS!!! I’m not saying that audiences lives don’t include these emotions and moods and feelings. But I am saying that film gives audiences these emotions in a more neat and tidy (possibly) more powerful way. When you write a movie it should not be just a movie, anyone can write “just a movie”, Not many people can instil powerful emotions in people. and THAT is what we should be focusing on.
