Week 4 – Lectorial

We had some great guest speakers in our lectorial today.

Liam Ward had some great advice on editing and his chat was incredibly engaging and humorous. He stressed that the ordering of specific shots can create different variations of meaning. I like how my cinema studies class kind of tied into the days lectorial as well! I felt super smart.

Oh, this happened as well. T-Swift came to class.

Adrian Miles also spoke to us a bit more generally about the umbrella of Media. He had some great quotes. He really motivated me to put my thoughts and ideas into action and to not just let them dwell and die in my brain. I liked how he shot down the Cartestian understanding of the world, that we all have this seperation of our minds from our bodies. As media students, I understand that it is absolutely crucial that we treat our thoughts as material objects. That we put a value on our thoughts and make sure that they are treated with care and that we absolutely put them in practice! No one became happy and successful by thinking of a good idea and just letting it sit in their mind.
