Week 3 – Practical

Presented our low-fi self portraits. My group got straight into critiquing each others work and came up with some really constructive comments. Eliza and Sally’s work was super incredible. The theme of ‘home’ kept recurring. I like that the notion of ‘home’ has this all encompassing feeling to most humans. It’s one of those places where everyone feels safe and can truly be themselves. How great.

Preparation is underway for Project Brief #2 which is basically an extension of the low-fi self portrait project. We’re required to to basically use this the idea of creating a self portrait of ourselves in conjunction with the editing exercise and create a 2-minute audio/visual presentation that gives the audience a glimpse into ourselves.

The editing exercise encompassed the theme of ‘shapes’ and this is my final product. All footage is found archival footage and the music is a cool little piece of music that didn’t quite make it into Phoenix’s “Bankrupt!” album.
