After a recommendation, the past week has consisted of me watching tutorials on how to use After Effects. Watching these tutorials has become my addiction, as it is for mindless watching while actually learning something productive (would recommend). For my film I watched this tutorial on how to do a handwritten text effect and incorporated it into my film for my title sequence:
I was originally just going to use a standard title for my film, maybe fade it in and out, but this changed after watching Darcy’s title sequence and how effective it was to create this calm tone for her film. It was genuinely one of my favourite things about her film.
There are so many different and creative ways to create title sequences. Though titles may seem unimportant and juvenile to some, it is one of the first impressions that the audience will get of your film, so it is important to set the right tone for it.
