Project Brief 3 Feedback: Rough Cut

Unfortunately for the week 7 workshop I was feeling unwell, but before I decided to leave, everyone was exhibiting their Video Portrait rough cuts and collecting feedback. As I filmed my interview outside, I had quite a bit of background noise in my audio. I was given tips to use the ‘DeNoiser’ and ‘DeHummer’ effect on PremierPro to try and eradicate this background noise.

The DeNoiser did not help my situation at all. The effect, also known as ‘Adaptive Noise Reduction’ morphed my sound and made it difficult to listen to. My audio likely did not react well to it due to the excessive amount of noises from the wind and trucks in the background, but it sounded better without it. The DeHummer did not really produce much of a difference, but still did help slightly, so I decided to keep that effect on my audio.

Ultimately, the DeHummer was the only effect I could really use to better my audio, but didn’t really help my background noise issue. It was a very good idea to use these effects, but did not work accordingly on my audio.
