This week is all about planning for the shoot that we’ll be doing on our mid-term break, which is next week.

At this stage, we have finally finalised the main boy and girl. I am going to be the “girl” as it was gonna be easier with the schedules as well as directing. While as for the boy, we had quite a hard time looking for someone who would actually do it. James even suggested us to look through an talent website called Starnow, which we did consider but fortunately, Lyreca found Aaron to play the “boy”. To be really honest, we were actually quite picky in terms of our actor’s characteristics, but at this stage we just couldn’t ask for too much.

 

 

We also finalised our script, after discussing a lot with one another. We originally planned to shoot at the Little Library in Melbourne Central but after discussing with James, we were informed that it isn’t possible, as the security wouldn’t allow us to shoot. James did suggest to shoot in a bookshop instead, as there are quite a few around Melbourne that’s pretty cute.

 

 

We did think of a books shop inside the state Library, called “Readings“, but we decided not to do it there due to two reasons: 1. They do not allow us to shoot 2. The library suits what we were aiming for better than a book shop. Thus, we decided to shoot inside the Victoria State Library itself as it is actually really beautiful, and also since we were aiming for great visuals for our film from the start. Our finalised locations are as the following: someone’s house, the pier area and a tram stop in Docklands,Victoria state library, Yarra River, and Chinatown.

Now, it’s time to find schedule the shoots. As easy as this sounds, this is actually the tricky stage. Despite having only three members, everyone has different schedules, plus Aaron, who we have to depend on. Thankfully we had the mid semester break, and Aaron is an RMIT student, so we found a time that works for everyone. It would be nice to do it all in a day, but due to our availability, we had to distribute them to a few other days. Thus, for our library shot, we will be doing it on the Wednesday from 1-3, while as for the river and china town shots, we’ll be doing it the next day from 5pm.

Now, with our script ready, locations and actors confirmed, we’re ready for out shoot next week. Hopefully, the weather will be good, and everything goes smooth, or at least most of the time. Wish us luck!
