So in short, the title means “habit”. 

I was nearly there getting into a habit of blogging until the holiday came. Still, it is the lesser part on my side that fails me. 

April 27th. When Adrian constantly stressed that “doing” is an essential quality, for “meaning” will be nothing when there is no “doing”; I went back home, started to examine my “doings”. 

I realized that it’s not just about “doings”, but “constant doings”. Adrian pointed out how we treat our first language as a medium while we treat videos, audios or such media not as mediums. The use of language for communication has become a habit of us that its presence is like air to us(most of us). Thus, habits, habits, habits. Only those “constant doings” are those which will matter. It’s like the small things of trying to giving up smoking or losing weight. One will only benefit from constant doing. 

Or, “Rome was not built in a day. ”

When making media turns into a habit, that’s when, I suppose, we really are media professionals. 

It just occurs to me that maybe listing my habits will be interesting :

  • Wash my face twice a day. 
  • Brush my teeth twice a day. 
  • Drink a glass of water after waking up. 
  • Choose the clothes to wear. 
  • Simple make-up. 
  • Go to school according to timetable. 
  • Take photos using my phone whenever I feel like to. (Should demonstrate this by uploading them. )
  • Buy or cook meals twice a day. (Usually)
  • Watch at least one movie every week. 
  • Listen to the music everyday. 
  • Explore new music regularly. 
  • Check my wechat moments, instagram, twitter, Weibo. 
  • Chat with my friends. 
  • Just wandering about in the city or around Melbourne, once a week. 
  • Finish a book regularly. 
  • Go to galleries or exhibitions. 
  • Go to cinemas.
  • Go to live houses. 
  • Go shopping regularly. 
  • Meet with friends regularly. 
  • Write down thoughts whenever necessary. 
  • Check out some news. 
  • Catch up wirh my parents about things happening in China. (Personal lives and other. )
  •  Listen to podcasts regularly. 
  • Write a to-do list whenever necessary. 
  • Clean up the flat once or twice every fortnight. 
  • Do the school assignments. 
  • Go for dancing classes every Wednesday. 
  • Go to RMITV every week.  
  • Watch tutorial videos from time to time. 
  • Check the weather everyday. 
  • Go to Woolsworth every week. 
  • Dine out with friends. 
  • Explore new locations. 
  • Read short stories from an app called “one” on my phone. 
  • News regarding movies. 
  • Check gmail and calendar on my phone. 
  • Keep accounts on my phone. 
  • Record an inspiration: a rhythm or words. 
  • Make plans
  • Ask friends out for photo shoots.
  • Relax. 
  • Go to bed every day. 🙂
  • ………etc (can’t think of any more for the moment. )

Findings:

  • One can have so many habits!
  • You can tell a lot just from a person’s habits. Habits make us who we are. 
  • This one is personal: I need more habits. Haha. 
  • Relates to profession: more video making!
