When Sylvia and I was finishing the last bit of adjustments to the film, we were glad that this was finally over. The “City Drama” crew finally finished its mission. Our film was finally, officially born.

We came in every day to the edit suites to edit video, sounds, grade the color and add subtitles, working hard, having lunch and dinner together. It has been a weary and tough trek but we went through it together. We did the voiceover recording three times for Lester, did one reshoot, finished five scenes, had an argument and made up and of course, a production of more than six minutes of film in a month.

As for the final film production and the process of making it, I concluded the following:

Good:
  • Having prepared a finished, complete storyboard before the filming started
  • Working collaboratively and .solving problems together: make-over for Lester, making suggestions towards the voiceovers and the shots we did, getting the shots we wanted, getting food for each other(supportive), looking for locations, and so on.
  • I love the start and the ending of this film.
  • The voiceovers sounds great.
  • The overall style can be recognized.
  • The subtitles look nice.
  • We managed to translate the observation and put the themes we wanted into the film.
Not so good:
  • I ignored the feelings of other group members.
  • Being a bit unorganized at the start.
  • We wasted the rushes we did on the first filming day—we rearranged after looking through them.
  • Some of the shots could have been better. There has been some overexposure problems.
  • The acting could have been a bit better.
  • The film is still not strong enough to fully communicate the theme we wanted to express.

It was a rewarding process. I admit that I am still not fully recovered from the argument, but it’s not about the argument. However, in the end, I should say this: keep clam and carry on. There’s no such dilemmas we cannot overcome. DO THINGS! LIVE THE LIFE! NEVER STOP LEARNING! ♥︎ ✌︎ ☺︎ ☀︎
