Sometimes I think that our human take things for granted too much that that they fail to notice the beauty around them. One of them is the simple wonderfulness of life. I’ve been thinking about all sorts of things: who am I? what is life? how do I define happiness? what’s the purpose of our existence? I need to find my value, my view of the world. Then I just come back to the normal, simplest life. I think we have been too busy and too occupied with the internet world that we fail to notice the things, real things that are actually around us.

In the reading, it talked about ways to improve our noticing and gave us some exercises for noticing. I really liked the exercises like this. It’s interesting for me. As a person who usually speak so little, I tend to enjoy noticing all sorts of things. Sometimes, I will just sit there and look at people, trying to figure out something about them just through observations (a bit like Sherlock Holmes). So I will definitely try the methods mentions in the reading: marking, writing down, thinking about what you see (think deep!).

Here’s the film that the topic reminded me of, the Legend of 1900. This scene has really shown that’s 1900 is good at noticing.
