REFLECTIONS
- What problems did you encounter? What did you try to do to get past or mitigate these?
There were not many problems in the technical aspect because I’ve been handling cameras for years. The only problem was that we didn’t have much to say so we discussed a little bit and worked out what we needed to say. Also, we distributed our job during filming and switched around.
- What were your most successful shots?
#1. The second establishing shot was great. I love how we zoom out and placed Gaby in the centre of the shot. The composition was good.
#2. I love “interview #2” also due to the composition. The background was clean and the shot was symmetrical.
#3 I didn’t put in the “over the shoulder shot” (click to watch the shot), but I suppose if I had put it in the “interview #1”, it would show that we followed the 180 degree rule.
- What did you discover about camera techniques? (e.g. composition, framing?)
Frame mobility and composition are something we must be aware of during filming. For this interview, we did managed to consider a bit about the framing as you can see below. We used symmetrical composition and also used the rule of thirds in our shots.
