Lectorial Exercise: Media IS everywhere

Our group was near Bouke Street Mall; here’s the listing of our media encounters.

We went to the mall and saw people on the phones, listening to the music, messaging a friend……Media is everywhere. One of us got lost and couldn’t find us, so we too contacted each other with our mobiles.

Then there’s some pictures and audios.

To really think about media, it’s too important for us even to avoid it. Surely human beings need interactions with one another, and it’s getting so into our lives. Media is a tool, for advertising; it’s a method, for communication; it’s a platform, for everyone. Taking a close look, I can’t help to realise that how closely we are connect to all sorts of mediums and that how complicated the world has become. So much for media and so much for information. To quote a line from “Downton Abbey” by the Dowager Countess, “I hanker for a simpler world.” Is it even possible now? Complexity of the world is catching up with the complexity of our brains. It’s becoming a lot harder to see to the solutions for many issues now. So where are we heading for? What is expecting us?
