Flying here, moving here, uni life, all of this, has been like a dream for me. Everything took place in such a speed that I really need time to adjust to this, a brand new life. This morning, I had this workshop with Dr. Seth Keen. The room was hard to find so I was a bit late. Soon I didn’t feel warm anymore sitting there due to the coolness of the room. Seth started the day with his self-introduction, showed us the website he did for PhD. During this, he mentioned an app called Evernote where he recorded a cloud of ideas and notes. I will try that, for I’m in desperate need of a proper note-taking app to get through uni.

The next thing on the list was blog set-up. So Seth asked us the difference between a blog and a website. By the time of this rethink activity, I felt freezing cold. In coldness, I rethink. Well, blog is a type of website, in which an individual regularly updates posts. It’s like a diary open to public. Website is more like a general word for all web pages in the World Wide Web. Seth, however, pointed out that blog is comment-enabled, so it’s more interactive than a normal website. Fair enough, although I haven’t successfully kept a blog before, but I think the communication is crucial. Like-minded people may comment below a post or even have a good argument with the blogger—it’s beneficial and intriguing.

I was then really regretting not bringing my coat with me, but the project brief was “colder”. Self-portrait, lo-fi, no selfies, 6 photos, 3 audios, 3 videos and some texts. It sounds clear, but it’s hard to get started. I love to think of myself as stardust(got my own explanation for it). Nevertheless, I don’t want to get too complicated, so maybe I will just try to reflect the simplest side and let the work speaks for itself. It’s like a woman without make-up, the essence is who she really is. Basically, I set a general direction for my first project that morning and wish me luck. 🙂

I guess that’s all, the first workshop was pretty relaxing. The key word was COLD. It’s somewhat distracting, but my brain was very conscious due to the coldness. Looking forward to the next workshop!
