Statement

to be further developed and refined.

May 20, 2015:

Perspective makes a difference. The camera acts for us as a “way of seeing”, a window, a frame, but it is more then that – it is not only the surround that is constructed, but the interior, and it is shaped by so much more then just the literal frame. It is shaped by the position, by the very constructs and mechanics of the machine.

This enables us to look at (maybe more appropriately, observe) movements and moments in new (alternate) ways. Shaped by the machine even the smallest of gestures takes on a whole new meaning.

How might the camera be used to create or see the movement of people (actors AND non-actors) in context? More specifically, the walk. The entry. The exit.
