I am a photographer, filmmaker, producer, scuba diver, friend, sister, daughter, auntie. How I see myself has changed dramatically over the past six months. Last year my best friend was killed in a car accident and I have not felt whole since. Now I am gradually picking up the pieces.

I have externalised my fragmented psyche by using a broken handheld mirror and photographing my reflection. The camera that can be seen in the shot also communicates that filmmaking and capturing images is important to me.

The fragmented theme is repeated in this image and the use of an antique mirror also demonstrates my nostalgia.

The broken mirror image is repeated, however it is now visible that some pieces of glass are missing, alluding to the fact that I do not see myself as whole or complete.

In this image I have experimented with shutter speed, creating two distinct images of myself. I believe that this shows the change that I am going through.
