In todays studio we presented our idea to everyone. The presentation outlined the idea (which is described in detail in the Our basic idea post). Then we introduced the class to our characters. I am developing Chastity’s character and she is strongly associated with the Fairy Tale genre. Each video was in response to the question “why are you taking Philosophy” because in the story that is how all of the characters know each other. We made these little videos to give the class an insight into the characters we have created and we received a few laughs and everyone seemed to understand the idea.
We were asked about the sixth episode that Angus will be developing that unifies all of the stories and Angus discussed a mystery genre might be used. We were approached afterwards and it was suggested that we analyse the different between a Poirot and Miss Marple mystery plot. We will be developing the plot further as we all develop our individual scripts over this week.
This feedback was useful was we will need to determine the elements of each genre and decide on what elements to use in our project. Below is the video for my character Chastity. I wanted everyone to see a naive and gullible young girl with good intentions. Her character will always have good intentions (such as putting a love potion into the punch) however her actions cause problems because of her disconnection with reality.
