In all honesty, I have been avoiding this all week as the efforts in writing up my blog just passed my mind whenever I thought about posting something. I am extremely new to this, and definitely don’t feel alone in the process! However, after speaking to some other people and reading some really good blog posts I now understand the importance of keeping up to date. After all it’s a really informative way to reflect and summarise classes for my personal advantage through the years. Its definitely hard to start, as I have never been much of a writer, always feeling out of place when it comes to diary entries, and platforms like Facebook and twitter, but there is first time for everything!

When I read Adrian Miles “Blogs in Media Education: A Beginning” it definitely gave the insight of what a blog is, and how its usually used, but also got me thinking of its factual contribution to the course in the upcoming years. According to Miles, a blog allows you to write with diverse range of voices, you can be yourself or create a persona of whoever you want to be. Thoughts ideas, reflections activities and creativity can be shared with the world regardless of who you really are. Blogging throughout the Media course through the balance between formal and informal writing is able to give your work support and provision as it is being recognized, influencing a larger community by knowledge and true opinions. It also teaches you how to respond to other people’s ideas, by reading other blogs and voicing your attitude and views can create a teacher/student educational network.

As Adrian miles covers the role of ‘seeding’, I hope to overcome any anxieties about using the technology, after all, it’s a beneficial process that I am guaranteed to improve on over time, and cant wait to newly express my ideas and thoughts with everyone.
