INITIATIVE FOUR – STUDIO VISIT

On Thursday in week four straight after my Media One studio I got to go to my second year studio visit!

I was one of the lucky few to get into the fashion film studio called:

“More Than Fabric: Fashion Films in the Digital Age” presented by Christina Heristanidis.

It was a really fun and interesting studio to sit in on. As you may have gathered from my previous VAMFF posts, I’m a big fashion fan and am considering a career in fashion journalism so jumped at the opportunity to have a look into this studio.

In the class there were about eight groups of students who were all presenting ‘rough-cuts’ of films they had to present at the end of the semester. It was amazing to see the different types of films and aesthetics that each of the students were going for. From experimental to more commercial each had a lot of care and work going into each of them.

I got to talk to Christina about what else they do in the course and they have guest lecturers with people from the industry which would be great to experience.

It was an inspiring visit and great to see how much more advanced the editing is and that one day I could create something as creative and intricate as the what I saw here!
