After searching around for ideas when it came to what an exploded view is, I found the works of Todd Mclellan, a photography who published a series of artistic exploded views of several items, including media things.
Mclellan’s work leans more toward the visual exploration, rather than the exploration of what a thing actually is.
He uses symmetry and placement to create a piece of art, whereas our assignment calls on us to explore what is important to the item. His photo’s are more concerned with the parts that make up the ‘thing’, rather than what the ‘thing’ means.
Interesting nonetheless.
