As I watched this oddly directed music video that presumably ‘Justin Bieber’ had some influence into creating, I found that this interesting concoction mirrored another quite unique music video called “Chandelier” by Sia. Although the similarities were evident through the ‘hand-play’ like word play i guess, put alot more intense and frequent, it showed interesting meanings. In a sense these two people are puppets, using each others strings to move and interact and in the end stay alive and balanced. You could say that they are one puppet and there personalities and actions join together to create an equal-human being. The iPhone also allowed for the audience to know the current century and setting the scene, but could have been used to carefully promote the iPhone (and earn Bieber some more dollars). Whilst jumping from each others screens (phone to phone), it portrayed that they can manoeuvre into each others lives and jump in and out of ‘metaphorically speaking’ their shoes and identities. But at the end when the supposed boyfriend has left her it shows that she’s not able to be herself and the colour changes to black and white to shows that the feelings of the man being wanted at the start, has now reversed to the girl who now wants to be wanted. Is this a facade or has Justin Bieber actually changed…
