Media 1 Workshop 5

Life throws some stuff your way that sets you back in your plans and timetable. Unfortunately, last week my Grandfather passed away, so I was unable to present my PB2 until today.
I decided to redo most of it as I was unhappy with the material collected during the Project Brief 1 process. I presented my completed Project Brief 2 to the class and received some really good feedback. People seemed to really like the incorporation of water rippling and how I layered it throughout the film, adding an element of fluidity to my film. I also received some constructive feedback- Robbie suggested that if I were to redo the project, I should represent the theme of reflection through more of the elements incorporated in the film.

After I had presented, as a class we discussed tips and tricks for the equipment available for hire in Building 9 and then practiced our camera skills by filming various shots of people meeting and greeting.
It took me back to when I completed my Certificate IV in Screen & Media, where we got to know the equipment inside and out and used our knowledge to achieve desired looks.
I was grouped with my main homies (except Annie- we missed you Annie!)- Emily, Grace and Madi. We filmed lots of different shots using tripod and handheld methods, giving each clip a sort of ‘texture’.

I’ll embed the videos below, but here is a song that came to mind whilst completing the task- Two Door Cinema Club’s Handshake

Oh and here is what we produced…
