What Break?

So since we didn’t finish filming the entire pilot in the one day like we had planned, we obviously had to come in for a day during our one week break to film one last scene that had all the characters in it. And like last time, we did more or less better than planned.

We were down a couple of people so we did have to work a little more to compensate for that and make sure we get everything that we needed done. We were slightly more productive in that most of us who were there early to set up looked at the script prior to the day and discussed shots we wanted to use for the scene. So by the time everyone got there and we were ready to start filming, we were prepared and not wasting time trying to sort out which shots to use, and we also finished earlier than planned so that was also a bonus.

But again, like last time, I still felt a little all over the place because I kept shifting production roles so that is something we really need to work on. I know that we were missing a couple of people so we all had to double up, or triple up, on production roles so I totally get that. One of the things that I love about my group is our group chemistry; everyone just clicks each other and we all share the same vision. I think the thing that we struggled with in filming this pilot is that we didn’t really have that much of a clear idea as to what our vision actually is and we also didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for it like we hoped to.

And in saying all of this, another thing that I enjoy about being part of this dream team is that we’re all very self-aware; we know that how we’re working in this pilot is not how a production set actually works and we’ve all become very set on improving ourselves for the production of the actual web series so I’m definitely looking forward to getting onto that.
