Slowly but surely, things are moving progressively in class. After the first prompt videos we gave to the writers, they responded with 5 characters, all of which have varying degrees of uniqueness to them but sharing an ‘intern’ or office occupation. My group and I had a really great discussion in regards to responding to what the writers had given back to us. We really took notice of each protagonist that the writers have created and we knew that because each one had such interesting qualities, it was hard to ignore one and we thought that it would be even more interesting to see how these characters would interact would each other.

And since all the characters have a similar office setting, it would be easy to place them together in one environment. So from that, we discussed the possibility of all the characters being together in the serial and having an episode dedicated to each one with their own respective storylines. But that of course, is up to the writers and how much of our written feedback is considered and how inspiring our dialogue video response is. We also discussed the possible style of filming that could be undertaken to deliver a potential series with these characters and took inspiration from shows that we’ve watched.

So by the time we got to filming our response dialogue video, we had a pretty clear idea of how we were going to film and edit the short scene that we had planned. We decided to ‘break the fourth wall’ by incorporating an interview/confession-like aspect to the scene that would be intercut in between other shots. We also chose two of the characters that we liked the most and filmed a scene of how they could interact in an office setting. I guess what we really wanted to achieve is showing the prospect of having a web series with these characters who have such contrasting personalities.
