And now, we conclude.

This week was our last week of classes, and also our last full week of working on our group film. Our primary focus now was on solely editing, but to be more specific, this meant adjusting the colours, sound and refining shots. We made sure that all the shots we needed were in place and then worked on colour grading every shot, particularly adding a blue hue to the image to create a cold and isolated atmosphere. Before going straight into changing the colour image, we first looked at adjusting the brightness and contrast of each image, as well as the saturation before adjusting the colours.

We then looked at one of the most important aspects of our film, a factor that aids in really giving life to the story — sound. As the audio from the clips were not recorded with good quality as the in-built microphones were being used. We looked over the film again and decided on which sounds we needed to record for which scenes. We also discussed that were going to keep the music that we had put in the flashback sequence despite the fact that it is copyright. It was fairly hard to find music that matched the sequence as well as the song that we had chosen, moreover, the lyrics of the song fit perfectly with what was happening not only in the flashback but in relation to the entire story of the main character. And on this note, the music that was also used for most of the film, which was actually recorded in the dance studio to imitate a dance class happening, is also copyright music.

After having completed all these and the sounds/music were placed accordingly, it was time to finalise the film. Being guided in our final moments of editing, we looked very closely at how the images and sounds flowed, especially how they cut to or transition to the next shot smoothly, or rather coherently. It was all about fixing the finer details. And once this was all good, we were finally finished and submitted the final cut of our group film.
