This morning, replacement buses were being used to make up for the trains not running that morning. We all had to line up in a huge line and wait for buses to arrive. And while standing on this line, I noticed a lot of people were on their phones, either calling, texting or taking photos of the long line. I also noticed how one event can affect so many people but also bring them together in a way. I saw and heard a lot of people calling and texting their bosses about what’s happened and how at the end of these phone calls/messaging, people would look up from their phones and just begin a conversation with the people around them seeing as they/we all share the same inconvenient experience and we really had nothing else to do other than stand there and wait patiently for more replacement buses to arrive.
