Feed Me

If there’s anything I’ve noticed on Instagram, it’s the rise of having a particular ‘feed’. I’m not going to lie, I, myself, are trying to achieve a certain feed for my profile. This means applying the same filters on your photos, or only posting certain photos to create your own feed.

There is also a new trend on Instagram where a series of photos form one big photo when you view their profile. Personally, I’ve wondered how this can be achieved and thought that it must take some effort. I’ve also wanted to try this out just because I thought it was cool, but I don’t have a photo that I think is good enough to use for this technique.

And I think that’s also something to think about with social media — the amount of thought that goes into the types of photos you think satisfies within your feed style. I think that it has become more about sharing photos instantly, to sharing photos that adhere to certain conformities. When has being a participant of a photography-based social media app become somewhat complicated? Is it really about achieving a particular ‘feed’? Or is it secretly about getting the likes?

Regardless of what the reason may be, I think it’s important to remember to not be so influenced by such illusions, because ultimately, that’s what it truly is — creating a particular profile that aims to be admired by followers. Also remember to not get so caught up in posting the right picture and getting the most amount of likes. Instead, focus on just living in the moment. And so what if you post a photo and gets 2 likes? It shouldn’t make your experience of that particular moment any less valuable.

And sometimes, the best moments are the ones that don’t end up in social media.

Just live in the moment.
