For The Love Of Art

Wednesdays are good days for me. Or at least for this week it was.

I finally went to Ai Wei Wei x Warhol exhibition at the NGV with only a few days left before it leaves. I have been wanting to see this exhibition for a long time but I never got around to it. But I had it planned for two weeks to go and I’m so glad I did. This one was my first paid exhibition and it was definitely worth it. It was also worth the long line I had to wait in.

Seeing all that art made me relive my love for art. And by art, I mean drawings and paintings and photographs. I used to be more into visual art rather than performing art (in this case I’m considering film to be part of the performing arts). I used to draw a lot way back when, but things change, and I’m no longer that good. Once I got into senior high school, I started doing it less and less. Pencils to sketch got swapped for pencils to solve math equations, and paint brushes for touch screens. And I’m sure you can guess where I’m going with this.

It’s a shame. It really is. But if there’s anything I really want to achieve this year, it would be to become more of myself again since senior year of high school got to me in a more challenging way than I originally thought. I’ll definitely try to get back my artistic skills since my passion for art has never left. And I don’t think it ever will. At least, I very much hope it doesn’t.
