Here’s A Tip For You

The workshop for this week was less of a workshop and more of a consultation session. Our tutorial teacher spoke to use individually giving us feedback on rough cuts of our film portraits for our third project brief. The main feedback that I got was to try and focus on one aspect of my subject if it’s possible with the footage that I already have, and to also try to stay within the time limit of 2-3 minutes.

If there was one thing I would want to focus on about my subject, it would have to be her talent for dance or her love for makeup. Or rather, they would be the two main things I would want to focus on had I received this kind of feedback of earlier. But unfortunately, I don’t have the time to reshoot and it’s pretty difficult to organise a reshoot considering our current conflicting schedules, and most importantly, being one week away from the due date. However, I will try to work with what I have. The only thing I can really do is extend the dance and makeup sequence for as much as I can, and use majority of the footage. But this is feedback that I will definitely keep in mind if ever I make another film portrait on someone.
