Tell Me About It

In this week’s workshop, we discussed an array of things, but of course, all still relating to media. We began by watching a short video of UK academic, David Gauntlett as he discusses his new book, Making Media Studies: The Creativity Turn in Media and Cultural Studies. He makes points about making media to describe and immerse rather than to read at a distance, as well as the need for media to move forward and keep pace with the changing world to stay connected.

(Click here to read more about this topic in my readings post for this week).

We were then given an opportunity to look at other people’s blogs and provide feedback on their posts using the Six Things Hats system. But to make it more interesting, we were separated from our usual tables and put into different groups with people we don’t usually sit with. I thought this was clever because it gave us a chance to meet other people in our class and continues to push us in developing our abilities to provide constructive feedback.  From the feedback I had received, my blog is neatly organised, and in terms of any improvements/suggestions, to add more images to my posts, include my opinion more, and provide links to articles.
