I really enjoyed watching everyone’s films for Project Brief Three in the tutorial this week, but as always it was a little nerve racking having everyone watch my own work. I always find that I’m happy with my work when I’m watching it on my laptop but as soon as it’s on a larger screen I tend to pick out faults I didn’t notice before. Nevertheless it was great to gain inspiration from everyone else and to give and receive feedback.
We were broken up into groups by Rachel this time, a way to talk to some people in the class that we may not have before. Here’s some of the useful feedback I received from my group in regards to my work:
- Interesting subject
- Found footage worked well in terms of subject and aesthetic
- Audio track needed improving (voice over a little jumpy with the background noise)
I also provided feedback to the other members of my group

I liked Tim’s use of sound, especially in the live performance segment, but thought he could have extended the segment a little longer, or returned to it throughout the clip. I thought he used found footage really well also, particularly when the bands being mentioned related to the image being displayed.

The audio in Daniel’s clip was really smooth, without any background noise and the music came in and out seamlessly. The found footage fit in well but I thought the shots of his brother could have done with a little variation.

I appreciated the humorous aspects of Sandy’s film and thought his humor could have been even used more throughout the clip. I also liked the shots filmed in the park, I thought they looked really nice. The audio seems a bit jumpy at times though.

I really like the aesthetic of Jac’s film, particularly that the environment seemed very suitable and in line with the aesthetic preferences of his subject. I think it would have been good to see more of the fashion show though, as only a snippet is seen.
