Feedback on Project Brief One

In class today we split up into groups and had a look at each others self-portrait media. We used the ‘Six Thinking Hats’ process by Edward de Bono to reflect on each persons work. I found this useful, as rather than just saying ‘it was good’ or ‘it was bad’ we were able to provide constructive criticism and talk about what worked and what didn’t work.

From each ‘hat’ I received the following feedback:
• Black hat: Would have liked to see photos of me included
• Green hat: Alternative to text would be a screen of the text messages instead of them being typed
• Red hat: ‘I felt bad for you but then happy for you’
• Yellow hat: The images around my house were received well. They also liked how I mixed my personal life with my work life.

I think for the second project brief I’m going to use new material rather than recycling material from this project. I may use some of the same ideas but I’d like to make it more cohesive. The feedback I received favoured the images taken around my home so I think I’ll run with that idea but it extend it to include sound/videos/text.
