Things I want to be able to do by the completion of my degree
– Be more open-minded when it comes to viewing media (i.e genres)
– Be more proactive about ideas, projects
– Confident use of film camera
– Confident use of editing programs
– Skills and confidence to initiate project
– Be able to network
Of course there are many more things I would like to do, but being the first week I am still finding my place and figuring out exactly what it is that I want to do and where I want to go. I guess my primary goal is to be more confident in myself. The last few years I’ve had a few opportunities to involve my self in various media outlets but I’ve always been hesitant, thinking I wasn’t able to do that sort of thing. As the weeks go on and we start assessment tasks I’m sure I will get a grasp on what it is I enjoy the most. As far as my learning style goes, I would say I’m an active, visual learner- what you would could ‘hyper-activity’ in terms of our first reading. Sitting in a lecture for me is just an invitation for my mind to wander, though with that being said I’m the lectures for Media 1 seem more broken up into segments. This sort of thing might be a struggle for me as well…… we’ll see how it goes.
