Work Attachments

In the lectorial today, we were introduced to work attachments. A work attachment being 80 hours of supervised experience within the field of media by semester 6. This task is (seemingly) simple and 80 hours really isn’t much. I am excited to start the task of looking for an attachment. In order to start the process we were asked to answer the following questions:

• what’s your ideal attachment?
• what are my priorities , what would i like to achieve, learn experience?
• What are your skills
• who will best suit the developmental needs you’ve listed?

These are actually some difficult questions for me to answer as I am essentially being asked, “what do you want to do for a career?” – a question I have avoided all 22 years of my being.

• My ideal attachment is an attachment that will allow me to work for an owner/boss, rather than an employee (or at least allows for some contact) . I want to own my own company and want to be a leader so I would like the opportunity to observe someone’s leadership style.
• I would like a chance to grow my technical skills is audio and video.
• I would prefer the attachment have something to do with creating content for the internet.

These may sound like high expectations especially for my limited skill set. I think I am actually pretty flexible in what I’ll be seeking out, I may also seek out an opportunity in the US if feasible.
