PB3 Screening + Feedback
In the workshop yesterday, we showed each other our PB3’s. In these moments, I remember how I constantly felt in high school – shaking with anxiety for almost no reason at all. Anxious over having to show my peers my work. I hadn’t felt that way last time for PB2 at all. I think more or less because I felt mine compared to others was fairly strong. This time…. not so much. But about a minute into mine being shown I calmed down. I felt it got a fairly good reaction and the mistakes I cringed at most others barely noticed (or they were nicer about it than I was to myself). It’s easy to forget that this is all a learning experience and not a competition where I need to constantly compare myself to others. And I do think I learned quite a bit about how I could of made mine better in many aspects from watching my peers excel and especially from the ones within my group as they were all so great!
During the screening, we were also instructed to take feedback of a few other students work. Here is my feedback:

Bradley: Easily my favorite choice of subject as it had a very clear topic that was both something unique, educational (?) and humerous. All of the shots of the erasers are great and I liked that the white background was used for both ther erasers and the subject it made the whole thing look very clean. I think it could have benefited from a music track to help set a tone.
Rosie: I felt the audio was a bit soft sometimes and I couldn’t fully hear what her subject was saying (this seemed to be an issue for a lot of people though I think mine had the opposite problem of being too loud). All of the establishing shots are wonderful and the small bits of laughter make the piece appear a lot more personal. I think the narrative really comes together at the end. It could have benefitted from a bit more found footage or just variety of shots of the exterior as it was such a pretty location.
Isobel: This was easily one of the best ones I thought in the class especially from an editing perspective. The use of B-roll was fantastic and worked perfectly. The only piece of critique I have is TV that’s on in the background of the interview as well as the transition into the discussion about rod taylor – I didn’t really understand where that came from.

Riah: This was another great choice of subject and had a really well executed over all theme/message to it. The found footage was very well implemented. The transition into the music video is a bit abrupt and would have benefited from a similiar transition to the one into the footage of paris (how the sound lays over).
