Individual SWOT Analysis

In preparation for PB4, where we will be collaborating, I am doing a ‘swot analysis’.

SWOT analysis stands for Strengths; Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.

Strengths: The biggest strength I bring to the knowledge of ‘institutions’ as the concept of institutions is something we have previously discussed/ currently discussing with my rhetorics of politics and networked media classes.  Because of this, I feel like I will be able to bring an extra perspective to the topic.  In addition to this, I feel like I am very good at working in groups and working off of others ideas implementing my own, and creating a pleasant environment I attribute this to my childhood in theatre programs.

Weaknesses: My biggest weakness is probably having a tendency to take over if I feel like others aren’t contributing enough rather than discussing it with the person. This can lead to me feeling overwhelmed and overworked when I more than likely could have avoided it by speaking with the person I felt needed to step up.

Opportunities: Other than being happy to have the opportunity now to collaborate rather than just work alone I am excited to dive a bit more into some theory aspects surrounding media and institutions.

Threats: I am not sure exactly what a threat I might bring would be …. Possibly scheduling conflicts as I am currently (and desperately) looking for a job… But for now, I am fairly free in time (other than class time).
