Inspiration
I got the idea from black swan, it tells a psychological thriller about personality splitting. Ballet actress Nina struggles with illusion and reality in order to create a perfect “black swan”. If the overload psychological pressure is not relieved, the social health psychological problems will be formed. So I have an idea about Social Pressure.
Setting
-I think library is a good place. Student is a huge group of stress people.
-Another location can be tram. There are various kinds of people take trams and office worker is another big group.
Two symbolic groups can show the social pressure more clearer.
Character& Clothing
The characters as I mentioned I want to show the details of people’s action, expression and psychology.
Shots
For the shots, I would like to use mid shot, close up and extreme close up. Caused it can show the details better.
Sound& Music
I will use mute to show the a sense of stress. Natural sound of scene to show the sense of reality. Quiet Music to make people thinking.
We learned how to use the camera in the first class, it is not easy to operate. We shot “Lenny” video in a group and through this exercise I got some refections. First of all, we had a good team work, we made a good division and cooperation. We made everyone to play a different role, and gave a chance to change the role for everyone every scenes. Everyone also can be the director, actor, carrying camera and filling sheets. Exposure and lighting is very important because we can only shot inside of the building so to find a perfect place is hard. We realized many problems during the first shot. Then we tried to use different angles as more as possible, proof by facts, it provide convenient for our future edit. We can show every plots and shot in detail. Another important thing is communication. Teams that communicate complete projects in a quicker and more efficient amount of time than others. They also are more accurate in their work than others. Effective communication also allows team members to understand their roles and the roles of everyone else on the team. It also gives room for understanding among the team members for what needs to be done. After this work, we made good friends and had a really good time. All in all, I think this a very interesting class exercise and improve my ability a lot. I am very excited to shot better videos and I hope I can do better in the next exercise.
The latest film I saw is Crazy Alien. It is a 2019 Chinese science fiction comedy film directed by Ning Hao. It was released on the Chinese New Year, even though there are lots of New Year films are released in the meantime, special and novel themes still attract many audiences. On the recommendation of a friend, I choose this film to see. It is talks about a monkey trainer whose act goes wrong after an alien crash lands on Earth and injures his monkey. Desperate to perform the act, he attempts to train the alien instead, though is punished after the alien regains his powers.
The funny alien in the film which is captured by actor’s face and every movements are devoted direct by the director and in a variety of performance references. A highlight that will often be overlooked is how a few key features played double-work in plot development and humor. In particular: * The special effects used with the alien character make it seem quite natural. It is not carton nor fake but realistic and importantly its human-like facial features are central to plot and laughter. The film has consult four top international visual effects teams to complete 939 super heavy special shots. From the early conceptual design, the exploration of alien personality, the development of expression animation technology and the high-difficulty shooting scheme of bio-lens scene, it has lasted from November 17 to the later stage. The pure post-production lasts for one year, among which 500 are more difficult bio-effects shots. The film follow a realistic path so many special effects are not easily perceived by the audience after completion, but the best special effects should be invisible to serve the story. Hollywood movies “The Rise of the Orangutan” and “The Hobbit” are also used this technology to complete the production of biological effects in the film. If golden and red are the main colors, they should add a work “dirty” in front of them. The feeling can be found on rusty iron plates and greasy plastic cloth. The “rubbish feeling” is still the pursuit of this color and the aesthetic feeling in chaos. ALEXA has always been outstanding in color restoration so there are many color-shaping scenes use SkyPanel series to show off their skills. What impressed me most was that a small amount of silver retention effect was added to the picture, which made the pursuit of the “sense of broken copper and iron” clearer. On the contrary, after examining the control of the picture, it seemed that there was some excessive suspicion. Because there are different kinds of audience, the brightness of the pictures can not be controlled too extremely. Sensitivity is rarely used to 1200, most of them are 800. At this time, ALEXA’s granular texture is just right. Although the special effects shots of this film is already approach perfect, the plot is still need to be narrate more clearer that makes audience understand the plot easily.
“When we see a film of 500 shots, we also see 500 films.” Ruiz, Raul. 2007. From this says, we can know making films is not an easy thing and small things make a big difference, many major events are accumulated and summarized from minor ones.Today, the output value of films has continuously hit a new high, and even can become a pillar industry of the country’s economy and culture. People have touted or discussed about movies but few people have used the whole book to demonstrate the question of “what is the movie”. The truth of “art 7” or “24 frames per second”.This studio is the learning of filmmaking from small thing, it is also a different approach to the learning of filmmaking. It is a basics for future study and makes us noticed the small things around our daily life. I want to work through a series of projects inspired by promote and guided by constraints that investigate different facets of film production. I also want to improve my production techniques and analytical skills. To develop my knowledge of each of the facets of film production and how they work together. My goals and desires for this studio are accumulate experience from class excises and homework. I hope I can skillful use of photographic equipment and improve my technical ability-exposure, white balance, focal length and so on…Although this is not an easy class, when I get down to it, it is not so difficult. Through view and analyze other’s work, I can learn a lot of things, not only inclass projects but also group assessments. This is also a good way to make new friends, make progress together and develop my English. All in all, I will take every works in this studio seriously and try my best to learn more and more knowledges.
Although this is a short and quick semester, I have learned a lot of knowledges. I’m able to photograph professionally now that set up the camera certainly use manual mode and reset the white balance, shutter speed, ISO each time I change the location. At the beginning of the semester, I want to learn some skills about filming and photography because I am enjoy taking some photos and videos during my daily life. I like use them to record my life and also like share them online with my friends. I do not have enough knowledge about it so that there are lots of progress spaces and study things that I need to learn. As an international student, I also want to improve my communication skills, try to be more outgoing and make more friends. My goals for this semester is to become more and more creative and professional. I faced a lot of challenges, for example, I did not know how to set up the camera and did not know any professional knowledge about photography and filming. My classmates and group members helps me a lot. When I faced problems of project, I will become confident to solve them because I can use the knowledge which I learned from the class. I think I make the progress after finished each project, I was very enjoy to not only writing blog, but also take some photos or filming. Not only work individually but also work with a group, both of them made me learn different kinds of things. I was also very thankful my tutor who helps me a lot, gave me many excellent advice that make my work become better.
My intention with this work is to show A packed agenda of food, wine, sports and arts is your introduction to the best of Melbourne-from its creative exciting city centre, to its busy neighborhood hubs. Stylish, arty Melbourne is both dynamic and cosmopolitan, and it’s proud of its place as Australia’s sporting and cultural capital. Architecture is a main point to show historical side of the city and blending of culture is also an important part to show the soul of Melbourne. For example, our frames are focused on people and different kinds of scenery. We chose a lot of landmarks such as National Gallery, St Kilda, Luna Park, Melbourne Central and so on…We want to shot the most beautiful frame to show the charm of the city which in order to exhibit our topic. There are diverse age and ethnic in the video simply tell us Melbourne’s diversity. I think we achieve our intention of this work. We were proud of we use our new learnt techniques in class into our frame. To make the frame become more harmonious and beautiful. Not only improved composition knowledge but also adobe premiere provides a new perspective. I think there are a lot of media production skills I need to improve. Good video, like good photography, requires a number of different shots to keep the viewer interested and to make a visually pleasing story. Good video does not require expensive cameras or lots of equipment, good idea is more important. Setting up the camera is also covered to make sure I film at the correct settings and understand what video functions to use. Technically speaking, I think I need to spend more time working on editing. It is a most important part for the work, it is also the most difficult part so that this is one of the media production skill I need to improve.

We will use different types of view, not only urban landscape, but also natural landscape to show how beautiful Melbourne is. We will also present the local conditions and customs.
Melbourne has convenient transportation, delicious food, fresh air, high quality of life and a lot of study and work resources.
Group member:
Michael Jin, Bobo Liu, Esther Wang and Leslie Wang
I have any issues in the making of my work. Firstly, our group members had different schedules so that time management was one of the problems. We tried to arrange out everyone’s free time and the place who would shot. It helped us saved a lot of time and spent more time on modify and editing.
The next big issue which we faced is the weather. The weather was unsatisfactory because of the rainstorm, it also lasted for several days. To make our frame as beautiful as possible is very important. Because we wanted to show the soul of Melbourne, to make audience feel visual beauty is indispensable. We had to change some outdoor scenery into indoor scenery. Fortunately, it is not so bad, even better than before.
Lastly, we were confused about how to show our topic- soul of Melbourne. Tutor gave us a lot of good advice and told us how to revised and added other useful frame.
I think to make a good collaborator is a team-focused individual thinks about “we” rather than “I”. To have excellent leadership and organizing ability is also a main part to make a good collaborator. They’re good at asking the right questions. A great collaborator is always looking for the root of the issue. They don’t interrogate; they simply follow their natural curiosity because they want to understand. People expect you to be real, but it’s worth repeating. In order to be an effective collaborator, you have to know who you are, what you stand for, and how your talents, beliefs, values, etc. will benefit the challenge at hand. Others will appreciate your feedback, and trust that you’ll always give honest feedback. There’s a lot to be done; we get it. However, it’s important to remind yourself that there is a way to get things done without making enemies along the way. People work harder, smarter, faster when they like who they are working with so if you want to drive optimum efficiency and effectiveness, be kind to those you want to (and need to) collaborate with.
