Week #7 UOP – PB#3 Planning

This week Daisy and I organised a time to take our photos for project brief #3.

We have planned to both shoot on Monday and meet at Manhattan School of Music in Eltham and then will travel to the Teahouse in South Yarra.

My dad was very easygoing about Daisy using his school as a shooting location, in fact he said he could use some new promo photos.

According to the owners we can only go to the teahouse from 2pm onwards on Monday and Tuesday which limits our flexibility, (especially because Tuesday is Anzac Day). Annoyingly there are train works being done on my line on Monday – the Hurstbridge line on this day which will make for a longer day. Nevertheless I’m excited to take Daisy beyond the CBD and also immerse myself into Chinese culture a little at the teahouse. I don’t really know much about Chinese teahouses but Daisy has assured me of its picturesque nature.

Daisy has kindly allowed me to use her Canon 70D to take photos and I will bring my tripod for us both to use 🙂

In Friday’s class we did a practical exercise that encouraged us to approach a theme from both a formal and thematic perspective. ‘The edge’ being the concept to address in a literal and conceptual photographic manner. I used my phone camera so wasn’t really proud of the photos to upload them 🙁

I’ve made a deal with myself to buy a Canon 80D before the last assignment so I can use it and I have wanted one forever.

Some of my shots included a shot of a blossom and orange leaf, the tiled edges of the station bathroom and the reflected edges of buildings in the river bank.
