Plotting the Database

“A database, on the other hand, holds attention primarily through spatial arrangements. An interface foregrounds relational aspects of data and datasets and provides macro and micro views of those relations.”

But can we, through relational events, imitate cinematic techniques that presumably exists alone within the world of narrative?? The reading suggests ‘An interface is perhaps more engaging when displaying subjective time through spatial relationships. For example, a small frame embedded within a larger frame can spatially denote a “flashback.’

We can create montages by thoughtfully using the interface and SNU’s in a manner that replicates the montages we see in narrative based film.. But is that the purpose of K-film? Are we taking a medium and disregarding it’s capacity so as to achieve a technique that we want???
