It was surprisingly enlightening having my work critiqued in front of me. What most resonated with me was how the assessor was able to extract meanings which i had encoded. I know the subjectivity of K -film interpretation, but it’s gratifying knowing that what I want to be heard and understood is indeed being heard and understood. i was genuinely fascinated by the way in which the assessment has realised much more creativity in my work than i had intended. In that sense, i feel hopeful, because although we cannot see the greatness in our own work, based on our own gauging criteria, that does not mean the work has no essence and is not indeed beautiful to someone else.
