Anna has some similar ideas to me on the topic of neutrality. Nothing exists abstractly by itself, therefore technology can’t exist without users. It’s still there without users, but it’s existence is void. Giorgia contends that no technology can ever be completely neutral, using the example of the internet and how we manipulate it for gratification purposes. I’d have to agree with her on this, which leads back to the issue of narcissism in blogging. Do we manipulate the internet to paint a better picture of our selves? Does the internet incite individuals to do this? Felicia also backs up this argument, concluding that technology will never be neutral as long as it is in use.
