We are currently looking for submissions for a contest hosted by jovoto, that could be of great interest to your students. Hence I hope you can tell me how to provide them with information, or even spread the word yourself.
jovoto is an online community that links creative talent worldwide and provides space for an ideation process which is free, collaborative and, above all, fair. It’s initiation was triggered by the perception that in creative industries young talents often have the weakest standpoints, while the entire sector profits from their ideas. Thus, their main goal is to connect people who have ideas to people who need ideas – in a way that satisfies both of them and doesn’t benefit just one party.
This contest, initiated by PayPal, carries a first prize of $5,000 with a further $15,000 being distributed amongst the 19 runners up. Any idea put into production is licensed for a further $2,500. Although some challenges are public, this particular challenge is private. If your students would like to submit anything (ideas, sketches, skits, storyboards or films), please tell them to contact me at nsonne@jovoto.com with samples of their work and I will invite you to the private layer.
