Over the weekend I have been experimenting with food dye and water textures to create colour filters and cut aways for our music video with Ali Barter. The purpose of this footage is hopefully to capture some interesting visuals that we can layer over other material we are going to edit together for our projections. I’d like to have as much original and raw footage as possible to add texture to the final product. I’d also like to take this opportunity to experiment with low (or no) budget resources, things that can be found at home.

The bubbles from the dishwashing liquid looked like sparkly glass in an extreme close up. ‘Diamond’ in the lyrics of Ali’s song could be accompanied by images like this. Our own homemade version of natural elements like water and diamond.

The red dye pattern will most likely be used for the softer more fluid moments of the new song like the bridge where the artist has specifically mentioned a change in mood.
