For my first ever blog I thought it was be appropriate to reflect on the man behind the blog, Justin Hall. In our first media workshop we briefly discussed Hall when setting up own own blogs. Born on the sixteenth of December 1974, Hall pioneered the blog. Hall created an online journal during his time at Swarthmore College entitled “Justin’s Links from the Underground.”
Overtime Hall used this site to reveal personal details regarding his life which was posted for anyone and everyone to read. At the time this was seem to be very unusual to reveal such personal details about ones self for anyone to read. But now days, people will post anything and everything online for the world to read.
Later in life he established a partnership with Wired Magazine and become a journalist covering topics such as video games and developing mobile technology. Some of his work includes “The Gaming Wars” in 2001, “Hire This Boy To Play Your Video Games” in 2000, and “The Fantasy Life of Coder Boys” in 2003. However, he is most famous for developing online blogging and is now known as “the founding father of personal blogging.”
Now it is our turn to engage in the online program and begin documenting our learning through blogs.
