Having left everything to the last minute, as I told myself I wouldn’t, it’s time to create myself a showreel for the Intel application (which is due Wednesday). I haven’t done much in the way of film work when it comes to creating a showreel – a lot of the work is incomplete, or does not translate into a showreel very well. For example, my work with Offbeat is noticeably absent due to the fact that Channel 31 hates uploading videos in a picture quality over 1p. A lot of my earlier film work is either awful or deleted, and the good stuff from this year hasn’t been uploaded or is nowhere to be found (after waiting three weeks for a producer to reply to my urgent enquiry with no answer at all, I’ve come to realise Paul’s point about replying is topical and not just something to ignore).
Thankfully, I’ve got some good clips to include, but it’s going to be short. I’ve never created a showreel before so I’m not entirely sure what is protocol, but here’s hoping I have enough of a grasp on it to create something that isn’t sub standard.
