During this week’s workshop we had a ‘film festival’ of sorts of all of our finished Project Brief 3 films. It was great to watch everyone else’s video and see the diversity in the controlling ideas and angles everybody took, as well as the stylistic differences between all of the portraits. As a table group we were tasked with writing feedback for each other, to cast a critical eye over each other’s works to perhaps better ourselves at being more critical of our own work, and in turn, improving. Here’s my feedback that I wrote for the four others on my table:
- Nice colours
- Awesome framing
- Music might be a bit loud
- Frame is really pretty
- Interesting subject
- Found footage was relevant
- Love the birdseye shot of flowers – was that found or shot by you?
- Crisp shots
- Very diverse amount of shots
- Split screen was cool
- Music choice was good – though needs to be turned down maybe
- Interesting subject
- Lighting and colour was nice too, very soft
- Loved the opening sequence
- Jazzy music
- Variety of shots
- Sound was quite faint
- Interesting shots
- The music was used really well and I like that it changed to match the records he was showing
- Loved the found footage use – very relevant
- Use of colour was great
- Music matched well
- Had a good ‘climax’ with the reveal of the painting
- Variety of shots
- Symbolism
