With an abundance of opportunities currently coming my way to gain experience and get closer to my ‘dream job’, the sentence I see on almost all applications that makes my heart sink a little bit is “please provide links to previous video/photography work”. Having done Media since Year 11, one might think I’d have a good deal of video and photography work to provide, but as I’m sure fellow high school Media students know all too well, the videos you made in year 11, and sometimes even in year 12, are not always the greatest works ever. I cringe to think of the first video I made, about people getting picked off one by one by a never revealed or explained monster of some sort while playing Monopoly. But, upon saying this, I’m relatively proud of my media final from last year. I see so many things I could improve, looking back on it now only six months later, but it still makes me happy to know that I made something that other people enjoyed watching. Be kind.
