Week 3.
I was thinking about this just after I published my post about this week’s lecture/reading.
Still absorbed in the idea of screen shape in comparison with vision shape, I realised another difference between screens and sight. Screens are flat. Human vision is curved around us. It’s sort of three-dimensional vision. Rather than the two-dimensional screen. I wondered whether we would have better viewing experiences if our screens were curved like our vision is. Then I wondered if cinema screens are already curved.
Then I did some research, and I found this. Samsung has a new smartphone out called the Galaxy Round. And the screen is curved. And apparently – according to this article – curved smartphone screens massively increase image quality. Let me just give myself a pat on the back for thinking in the right direction. Ok, done.
Check it out.
Also, please check out my Thinking Space post. It’s related to all this jazz.
