W5. Critiquing own sketch vid.
WHAT I LIKE:
- Interpretation of brief. Big square piece of bread cut into quarters, cut into tiny little square pieces.
- How the shots begin wide and progressively become closer.
- The dramatic closer-closer-closer shot cutting at the end.
- The quick cutting. (It lookz lyk tha bread iz cutting itselff hehe.)
- The blue cutting board. Looks good.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE:
- The choppy, irregular atmos sound when we transition from shot to shot.
- The pace. It’s odd. I feel like it should be more even. As well as slightly quicker. But it may be the weird choppy sound that makes the pace feel irregular. Still, there’s something not quite there about the pace of the cuts.
- Cliche. This is quite a cliche thing to do. It’s a creative interpretation of the brief, but at the same time it is cliche. I just wanted to try it anyway.
Overall it is a nice vid – especially for an early sketch task.
